The Cambridge Trust announces William Papsworth Scholarship to study Post Graduate program at Cambridge University. Interested Tibetan students should first apply for admission at the Cambridge University. You are not required to apply separately for the Scholarship.

Wolfson College, University of Oxford, UK announces STIPENDIARY JUNIOR RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP 2016 in Tibetan and Himalayan Studies. Interested students may apply:

Important Dates:

  • Last date for submission of Application to President's PA: April 24, 2016 by 4:00 pm
  • Invitation for Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be notified after May 11, 2016
  • Interview Date: June 8, 2016

Qualifications and experience required:

  • postgraduate experience in Tibetan and Himalayan Studies or a related field
  • to hold a doctorate in Tibetan Studies or a related field by commencement of the Fellowship
  • excellent language skills in literary and/or spoken Tibetan

Duration of the fellowship: 

  • The Fellowship will be for three years, to commence on 1 October 2016. Preference will be given to applicants who have obtained their doctorate within the last five years, and have not already held a stipendiary Junior Research Fellowship.

Annual Fellowship Stipend: 

  • The annual stipend will be £23,000, plus any general percentage increase in salaries, agreed by the Remuneration Committee, that may come into effect. These Fellowships carry Common Table rights (currently up to £43 a week for own meals in Hall). Fellows are entitled to apply for College accommodation at the College rates. The Fellow is permitted to undertake up to six hours' teaching per week. The Fellowship will not normally be tenable with another stipendiary position: if, exceptionally, the Fellowship is awarded to a person holding such a position, some adjustment in the stipend may be made. The Fellow will normally be required to reside within 12 miles of central Oxford.

Applications should include:

  • a completed application form, and a full curriculum vitae including a list of publications
  • a 3-5 page description of the proposed research and the candidate's qualifications to undertake it
  • the names and addresses of three referees.
  • Any additional information relevant to the application should be included in the covering letter.

Balliol College Oxford UK announces fully funded Scholarship to study undergraduate degree at the University of Oxford commencing from October 2017. The Scholarship is a stdent - led initiative that aimed to provide a talented undergraduate with the opportunity to study a degree without disruption, so that they can achieve their full academic potential.

The Scholarship covers:

  • full tuition fee (currently worth £15,295-£22,515 per annum depending on course) 
  • full College fee (currently worth £7,135 per annum) 
  • full maintenance award (£8,556-£12,641 per annum). This amount is sufficient to cover accommodation and food costs as well as other general living costs.
  • one return flight per year up to a maximum value of £500 per annum.

Application Procedure:

Complete the Balliol College 'Expression of Interest' form  in order to signal to the College your wish to apply for this Scholarship. This will also make you eligible for funding assistance if required for the application and visa process. A full university application must then be submitted through the UCAS system.
UCAS is the online system used by all UK universities to process their undergraduate applications. All applicants must apply for a place through the online UCAS website, and Balliol College will consider eligible applicants for the Scholarship. Please ensure you apply for Balliol (code O on the UCAS system) on your UCAS application. You need to register on the UCAS system before completing an online application. The online application can be commenced from 1 September 2016, but you can register on UCAS well before this date and are advised to do so. There is a UCAS application fee of £12 (for applicants applying to one university)
payable online with a debit or credit card. If you are unable to pay this fee, please
note this on your initial Expression of Interest form, as financial support and/or

Personal Statement: you are invited in the personal statement section to explain why you are applying for the course and why you are suited to it. We advise you to concentrate on your academic abilities and potential rather than extra-curricular pursuits.

Reference: Applications are invalid without an academic reference so please ensure that you ask someone to write a reference for you well in advance of the application deadline. The referee should write about your academic abilities and potential and suitability for the course. We recognise that there may be difficulties in obtaining a reference from a school teacher, in which case a UNHCR official or equivalent refugee aid worker could complete this reference if they can attest to your academic interest and aptitude. The Dalai Lama Trust, Washington DC announces Scholarship to interested students pursuing Masters and PhD program in Europe, Australia or the Americas.

Who can Apply?:

  • Applicants must have already been enrolled in or be accepted to a full-time graduate degree program at a university in Australia, Europe or the Americas;
  • Applicants must show proof of Tibetan heritage and continuity of green book payment;
  • Applicants are solely and directly responsible for obtaining the necessary visas to attend the university of their choice;
  • Eligible candidates must be pursuing graduate studies, whether at the master's or PhD level, or at a professional school;
  • All graduate programs should be at least one year or multi-year, full-time graduate-level study programs, offered by reputable and accredited universities;
  • Applicants must be willing sign an agreement to return to India or their countries of origin after they complete the studies to give back to their communities.
  • The applicant must be a Tibetan Descent
  • Applicant must have got an admission in a graduate program in a University in Europe, Australia or the Americas.
  • Tibetans residing in India and Nepal can also apply
  • Current awardees of the program can also apply for renewal of the scholarship
