Tibetan Medical & Astrology Institute, Dharamsala announces admission - 2017

Men-Tse-Khang (Medical College), Dharamsala announces admission to study Bachelor of Tibetan Medicine (Sowa Rigpa) for the academic year - 2017

Important Dates:

  • Start of admission application form: Sept 10, 2016
  • Last date for submission of application form: April 10, 2017

Date of Entrance Test:

  • First Round: May 3 & 5, 2017 at College Hall, Dharamsala
  • Second Round: May 22 & 23, 2017 at College hall, Dharamsala

Eligibility Criteria for Tibetan Students:

  • Age: Must not cross 25 years old
  • Educational Qualification: Minimum class XII passed & 5% will be given to applicants with Physics, Chemistry & Biology
  • Applicant newly arrived from Tibet must produce arrival proof from Reception Center & must have lived less than 3 years in Exile

Documents Required for Tibetan Students:

  • Class XII Pass Certificate
  • Transfer & Character Certificate
  • A letter from Tibetan Freedom Movement certifying that you have paid the Green Book dues
  • A letter from Settlement Officer or from TFM (if there is no Settelement Office) cedrtifying that you have no debt or you have not engaged in activities that disrupt the Tibetan poligical struggle
  • Must have valid Registration Certificate (RC)
  • Medical Fitness Certificate from Delek Hospital
  • Must not be either physically or mentally challenged

Application Procedure: Download application form from official website or obtain from the office of Men-Tse-Khang Medical College. Send the duly filled in application form to the below mentioned address:

Mode of Selection:

First Round: Written Test (100 Marks) - must score 50% to be eligible for the second round
Second Round: Interview - 50 Marks

Eligibility Criteria for Himalyan & Foreign Nationals:

  • Educational Qualification: Minimum class XII passed
  • Must appear for the entrance test
  • Foreign Nationals must apply through Office of Tibet in applicant's home country or from an Office of Tibet located close by applicant's home town (if not can get it a recommendation from a Tibet Support Group)
  • Must have valid 7 years Student Visa to study in India
  • Renewal or extension of the visa is sole responsibility of the concerned student
  • Himalayan students must produce a No Objection Letter from appliant's State Department of Home
  • Himalayan student must produce Voting Card
  • Medical Fitness Certificate
  • Age: Must not cross 25 years of age
